A fairly new organization, Wheelchair Vermont, is planning its first of what will likely be many events to raise awareness about spinal cord injuries and people living in wheelchairs.  Run by people in wheelchairs living in Vermont, Wheelchair Vermont’s mission is to stay informed through one another and for one another in the areas of sport, news, and research.  They are just getting started and have organized what is sure to be a great event this coming weekend, September 28-29, 2013:  the Route 7 Adaptive Challenge.  Eight handcyclists and their friends will cycle down the full 176 miles of Route 7 in Vermont in a relay format with stops in Highgate Springs, St. Albans, Milton, Burlington, Shelburne, Ferrisburgh, Middlebury, Brandon, Rutland, Wallingford, Manchester, Bennington, and finishing in Pownal.   You can ride, donate, or volunteer.  It’s free for everyone.   Details can be found online at www.wheelchairvt.org.
