Your Kelly Brush Ride Fundraising at Work

Annual fundraising for the Kelly Brush Ride is the single largest source of donations for the Kelly Brush Foundation. We are so grateful to our riders, your fundraising changes people’s lives! The Kelly Brush Ride is one month away, so if you haven’t had a chance to start fundraising yet now is the time to start sending those emails and posting to social media.

If you’re new to the ride and the Kelly Brush Foundation we wanted to provide some insight into exactly how we use the fundraising dollars raised by riders. The KBF provides grant funding to people with spinal cord injuries to help them purchase the adaptive equipment they need to lead active, engaged lives! The KBF also helps to improve ski racing safety and prevent injuries on the hill. Here is the breakdown of our mission-related spending in 2017:

The Kelly Brush Foundation’s biggest program by far is the Active Fund, which provides adaptive equipment grants to people with spinal cord injuries. Adaptive equipment is prohibitively expensive for many people, so these grants allow people to purchase the equipment they need to get outside with friends and family, play on a sports team, and reclaim their active lifestyles. Thanks to past fundraising by Kelly Brush Ride participants the KBF has been able to award over 650 Active Fund grants across most of the United States. However, demand continues to increase, and we want to continue to make the life-changing grants all around the country.

The Kelly Brush Foundation gets applications for many types of adaptive equipment, and we try to fulfill as many of those requests as possible. For an idea of the type of equipment your fundraising efforts help to purchase, check out the breakdown:

And while these stats are interesting and hopefully help provide the scope of our programming, our grants help PEOPLE who aren’t just numbers, states, and equipment to us. Meet some of them >

The Kelly Brush Ride is just around the corner on September 8th, so tell your friends, family and neighbors to sign up and fundraise! We can’t wait to see you all soon!
