The Kelly Brush Foundation is excited to announce the 3rd annual KBF Adaptive Mountain Bike Camp taking place October 3rd – 6th, 2023. This opportunity will engage and bring together the SCI community to build camaraderie and gain further independence in adaptive sports. This year’s camp will focus on creating an opportunity for those who don’t own an adaptive mountain bike and those who have previously received grant funding or otherwise acquired an off-road handcycle to help everyone level up their skills and get to know their equipment.
Eligibility: Individuals with paralysis caused by spinal cord injury who reside in the United States. Other conditions are not eligible for this program, including (but not limited to) spina bifida, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, post-polio, Guillain-Barre´ Strohl Syndrome, ALS, all other neuropathies, and all other conditions causing disability.
We welcome individuals of all riding abilities — beginner through advanced — who need an offroad handcycle or own their own offroad handcycle – encouraged to apply. You will need to be able to provide your own transportation for yourself and your handcycle to East Burke, VT with up to $500 in travel vouchers included (flight, gas, train, rental car)
When: Tuesday October 3rd – Friday October 6th, 2023
What and where: Join the KBF for three days of biking in the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. The camp features 2 days of trail riding at Kingdom Trails and 1 day of downhill riding at Burke Mountain Bike Park. All abilities are welcome!
What’s included: 3-night stay at Burke Mountain Resort, with 3 days of breakfast, 3 lunches, and 1 dinner. All trail passes and lift tickets will also be included. Please let us know if there is any other equipment you might need outside of your off-road handcycle.
In addition to the Kelly Brush Foundation team, you will also be led and supported by a fantastic group of people involved in the adaptive mountain bike community, including staff from Vermont Adaptive and other adaptive programs throughout the country.
