Rider Profile – Garrott
Kelly Brush Rides: 2011 – Present
Garrott (better known as “Kuzzy”) was on the Middlebury College Nordic Ski Team (multiple All-American honors) as a junior and senior while Kelly was a freshman and sophomore on the Alpine Ski Team. He also raced on the US Ski Team after Middlebury where he scored a nordic World Cup Top-10 and raced in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. He is a Product Manager at VBT Bicycling & Walking Vacations.
What makes the Kelly Brush Ride so special? The KBF ride brings many of my passions: bicycling, skiing, friends, and food together in one place. I love riding with many of my coworkers from VBT Bicycling & Walking Vacations and many friends from Middlebury. Of course, living in Middlebury, some of my favorite cycling in in the Champlain Valley and the route for the Kelly Brush Ride showcases the best roads and views the area has to offer.
Why do you ride? I ride to support Kelly and the KBF. I can’t imagine a better way to spread the word about ski racing safety and get adaptive equipment to the people who really need and use it.

Any fundraising tips? Fundraising is a great opportunity to spread the word about the Kelly Brush Foundation. Once people know about the foundation, it’s easy to get donations!
Any cool stories from the Kelly Brush Ride? The conversations you have and connections you make during the ride and at rest stops are amazing. In 2013, I remember riding up the final hill into Weybridge with Woody Jackson. We stopped to catch our breaths at Hamilton Farm and the cows walked over and had a conversation with Wood. Seriously. I’ve never seen anything like it.
