Join Team KBF as our new Development Manager

The Development Manager will support the fundraising success of the Kelly Brush Foundation (1) by engaging a portfolio of moderate to mid-level donors, including individual donors, event sponsors, granting organizations, Kelly Brush Ride team captains, and other corporate donors, (2) by entering donor data and actively managing our donor database, and (3) coordinating a robust donor stewardship and engagement program.  In 2024, the goal of the Kelly Brush Foundation is to grow 20% and raise $3.3 million for our initiatives The Development Manager reports to the Chief Development Officer and is a key partner in executing strategy, building partnerships, engaging our communities in world-class events, and being a champion of our mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-caliber peer-to-peer fundraising strategies for the Kelly Brush Ride to engage approximately 1,000 participants, both in-person and remote riders, and raise $1,495,000. Recruit and cultivate high-performing participant teams, activate corporate sponsorships, and manage peer-to-peer fundraising needs.
  • Create and manage a robust remote ride experience for riders and captains.
  • Design and execute regional and national donor cultivation and stewardship programs in Boston, NYC, the Rockies, and San Francisco and a nationwide virtual cycle ride event to meet fundraising objectives. 
  • Enter and manage quality donor information in the KBF database.  Collaborate with CDO to create and maintain donor segmentation and stewardship customization process and implement within the CRM.
  • Segment and personalize communication. Actively manage donor information ensuring it is accurate and well-organized.
  • Prepare donor stewardship communications in collaboration with the development team, Executive Director, and KBF Board members.
  • Search and identify applicable grant opportunities in order to grow organization grant funding.  Administer grant calendar and manage timing of grant applications and renewals.
  • Work closely with the KBF marketing department to develop all event assets including invitations, email communications, sponsorship decks, websites, ticket and donation forms, email communications, presentations, signage, follow up, etc.
  • Manage a portfolio of new entry and mid-level donors, with face-to-face visits and strategies to increase gift amounts and improve retention.
  • Expand and steward the KBF monthly giving program, Trailblazers, to increase participation and annual giving funds.
  • Assist with other development operations, such as appeals, research, database maintenance, gift stewardship, etc.
  • Work with the entire team on mission programs and assist with mission-based events, as needed. Be a team player and assist all staff in areas of greatest need.
  • Mine database and use other means to identify donor prospects.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of fundraising/development experience.
  • Superior project management abilities and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in donor database software with demonstrated experience in data management.
  • Ability to manage high-stress situations and maintain stability and productivity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A passionate commitment to our mission.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and typical office technologies.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and has a strong work ethic.

Ideally experience in:

  • Proven success in developing partnerships and securing sponsorship funds.
  • Experience designing and executing events, including virtual events.
  • Experience in recruiting and managing volunteer committees.

This position includes some national travel as well as evening and weekend events.
