Join Team KBF as our new Social Media Manager (PT/Contract)

The KBF is looking for an awesome social media manager to help level up their online presence, and spread the word about their new platform, the Active Project. For the right person, this will be an ideal opportunity to shape grow the KBF’s main social presence on Instagram & Facebook as well as develop an account specifically dedicated to the adaptive community.

The KBF gives out over $1 million a year in grants to people with spinal cord injuries so they can lead active and engaged lives through sport. We are also launching a brand new platform to help people with disabilities learn about sports, find local places to recreate, and connect with peers and mentors. You will have free rein to develop the strategy and design that help grow those efforts, with the KBF team available to support on implementation.

About the KBF:

Since its inception, the KBF has provided over $4 million in grants for first-time sports experiences and personal adaptive recreation equipment for people with spinal cord injuries (SCI). Each KBF program seeks to assist people with SCI on their journey from injury to independence, and make every journey easier than the last. Through Path2Active, people are able to fund lessons, clinics, and equipment demo expenses to find new sports and the perfect equipment for their needs, including several camps hosted by the KBF. Through the Active Fund, the KBF will fund up to the full purchase price of personal adaptive sports equipment. And the KBF’s newest program, the Active Project, connects people with physical disabilities to events, funding opportunities, and their peers, empowering a lifetime of active at the click of a button. 

What it will look like:

  • Develop an aesthetic, content strategy, and calendar to engage our various stakeholders (donors, adaptive sports supporters, adaptive athletes & grantees)
  • Work with our programming team to develop an ambassador program, and develop an influencer engagement strategy
  • Use competitive research, industry best practices, and analysis of our existing presence to grow engagement and followers
  • Leverage our presence at conferences, adaptive sports events, KBF fundraisers, and on assets across the sports world to capture new followers
  • Establish rewards, incentives, and contests to engage various stakeholders
  • Work with the KBF marketing team to manage social media advertising budgets and campaigns

Requirements:

  • Experience managing and growing a corporate social media account, experience in the non-profit or adaptive sports space a major plus. Outdoor sports and fitness brand experience also a plus
  • Availability to manage social 5-10 hours per week
  • Experience engaging influencers, developing a social feed aesthetic, managing content strategy, and working with a team to generate content
  • 3-5 years in social media (a personal account with significant following counts)
  • Ability to accommodate a weekly meeting during normal business hours
  • This position is open to people with a full-time job, freelancers, or right-sized agencies.
