Kelly Brush
Charlotte, VT
Kelly’s ski racing injury in 2006 as a sophomore at Middlebury College inspired her and her family to start the Kelly Brush Foundation. Today Kelly is a mother, pediatric nurse practitioner, weekend warrior, and inspiration to thousands around the country with a spinal cord injury. Through the Kelly Brush Foundation, she has helped protect thousands of alpine ski racers and helped over 600 people with paralysis purchase adaptive sports equipment and get out and go!
Bridget Lally
Monroe, NH
2017 Active Fund handcycle grant recipient
Bridget is a singer, mother, and independent New Hampshirite. She was surprised at her door by Kelly in November 2017 with a new handcycle, the first time Kelly ever delivered the news of a grant in that way. You’ll hear more about that story.
Naomi Clark
Ashfield, MA
2016 Active Fund monoski grant recipient
Naomi is a 5th generation apple farmer in Western Mass. She grew up very physically active, and the outdoors have always been a huge part of Naomi’s life. Naomi is an avid handcyclist and received the KBF grant for a monoski so that she would have a fun, independent outdoor activity in the winter.
Delmace Mayo
Jamaica Plain, MA
2017 Active Fund WCMX grant recipient
Delmace is 11 years old and a force to be reckoned with! He enjoys wheelchair basketball, baseball, tennis, track racing, sled hockey, waterskiing, surfing, hand-cycling, and especially loves competing in wheelchair motocross (WCMX) events. KBF awarded Delmace a grant to help purchase a new WCMX chair, to help him reach his goal of competing in Pro level events.
Emily Cioffi
Boston, MA
2016 Active Fund monoski grant recipient
Emily is a medical professional in Boston. In high school she was an alpine ski racer at Burke Academy in Vermont and a trained ballerina. A life-long athlete, Emily experienced a tough few years after becoming paralyzed at age 20. Now she’s back on the slopes as a monoski instructor for Vermont Adaptive and has been out skiing nearly every weekend this winter.
Meredith Koch
Boston, MA
2016 Active Fund trike grant recipient
Meredith is a medical professional in Boston. She recently did a TEDX talk in Newport, Road Island. Meredith enjoys cycling, monoskiing, rock climbing and swimming.
Spaulding Adaptive Sports Centers
Boston, MA
Spaulding Adaptive Sports Centers is the adaptive sports organization within Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, one of the world’s elite rehabilitation facilities. It is also a Kelly Brush Foundation Path2Active partner. We have worked together to provide quality adaptive skiing programming throughout New England. They will be bringing equipment from other sports the provide opportunities for, including pushrim racing wheelchairs (like those used in the Boston Marathon) and sports chairs for basketball and tennis.
Boston Shamrocks Sled Hockey
Boston, MA
Boston Shamrocks Sled Hockey is a free program based out of the Allied Memorial Veterans Rink at 65 Elm Street in Everett, Massachusetts. The Boston Shamrocks play in the Northeast Sled Hockey League and is for both experienced and novice sled hockey players. They will have a piece of synthetic ice so you can have the opportunity to push around in the type of sleds you see used in the Paralympics and sled hockey games around the world.
